I need advice.....

Good evening ladies I just want to know what you guys as moms have done.

So a little backstory my son is now 2 as of October 24th. He was a premie (26 weeker) and has a hearing aid. (Nothing to deal with what’s going on or actually I don’t really know). Anyways when I go into public places my son acts out. Like to the point where he is throwing temper tantrums throwing himself against stuff. Now the reason for these temper tantrums is because he usually wants the attention from another person other than me. Today it was a young female banker. She was trying to do her job. And he wanted her to hold him and play with him. I told him no and he began to throw a fit. A bad fit. I grabbed him because he was screaming. He continued to scream and refused to calm down. Once done at the bank I tried to walk outside with him which he refused to walk with me so the banker picked him up, he was instantly calmed. The banker was kind and said bye and my son refused to come to me. Refused to leave with me and began fussing and screaming again.

I need advice on how to handle these tantrums.

What do I do?

Do I spank him?

I’ve tried removing him from the situation to calm him but once we have to go back it goes back to the same issue.

My MIL tells me if I spank him I will lose his trust.

Idk if maybe he feels overwhelmed but I just need advice on how to handle. My son isn’t deaf he has normal hearing in his right ear and whisper level hearing in his left ear! Please someone give me advice!!
