Bah humbug

Real life meets you in your mess and not your best. Work is stressful, school is stressful, and Christmas is stressful. I just finished finals of my first course of my Masters program yesterday. I have two kids 3 years and 6 months. I have not bought a single Christmas present or put up a Christmas tree. I was planning on doing some sort of Christmas shopping today, but there's currently 6 inches of snow and ice on the roads I couldn't even venture out and pick my kids up today that are staying with family. Currently, my house is a mess. I doubt we'll get the house clean enough to put up a tree and my mom told me today "those babies need a tree" referring to me needing to put one up. We're barely keeping up on basic necessities at this point, ie laundry, dishes, baths, grocery shopping, or making dinner, Christmas decorations has been low on our list of priorities and I'm exhausted. Before anyone says something, we have clean clothes, dishes, the babies are washed and food. I'm just wondering how I'll ever get caught up on anything, work or home wise at this point. Between driving both kids different places and picking them up on certain days, plus work and school, there's only so much time in the day. I barely make it in time to pick up my daughter from preschool, and I have to pick her up from after hours. Being the last parent to pick their kid up on her first day makes me feel great. I'm struggling and tired, and just feel great that I haven't managed to put up a stinking Christmas tree. It may just be that I let myself get overworked and overwhelmed this year. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to make it to work tomorrow, or pick up the kids more stress. In all honesty, would it really be that bad if we didn't put one up this year? I'm sure I'll figure out gifts at the last minute and get things together enough to at least survive the holiday, but I'm starting to think a Christmas tree is just not worth it this year. How do any of you mommas do it? For me working full time, school full time, and 2 babies has just pushed me to my limit.
