How do I tell him?

So I know my so is going to propose he mentioned a while ago that he was looking at rings. We have been together 7 years and are expecting our first child at the end of April. 
I really do not want him to propose for Christmas, I have been proposed to twice before on Christmas in previous relationships. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this to him before. 
I want to remind him of this but I don’t want to ruin his idea of surprising me as he doesn’t do romantic things too often. I could be jumping to conclusions and he might be planning on doing it at another time but just the possibility that it might be Christmas bothers me. 
Any advice on how to subtly bring this up?

U could say how u think a New Year’s Eve proposal would be very romantic and sweet. And a great way to bring in the new year. That way if he was planning it he could just move it back a week. And not have to come up with a whole new idea or wait a long time.

I would just tell him directly honestly. He knows that you know it’s happening soon. Just tell him you’re so excited and you can’t wait about remind him you have negative associations with proposals around s holidays and that he doesn’t have to reveal his plans to you or anything, but you just want to make sure he remembers that you have those associations and you hope you two can have a new memory at a different time

Use his sister, brother, best friend or mom to get the message across. Whoever you have a relationship with that you think could work it in. They could make a joke about cuffing season and then be like least your not going to propose on christmas cuz of your ladies past proposals. Oooor consider it three times the charm and embrace that you were meant to be proposed to this way and embrace your destiny with the universes unique irony. Congrats either way!

I think you just have to be honest, about what you find romantic! Even if you say it in a lighthearted jokey sort of way, like you love the idea of getting married or engaged in a certain way, and you hate Christmas!

First of all let the past go. The rest will make sense after. You’re with someone new, You should be concerned about whether I will accept the proposal in the first place. 
I speak from experience with things like this. I hated numbers, dates, holidays where significant things had happened and gone wrong and I realized I was running out of dates to hate.
