Is it ok to keep my baby on formula after 12 months?

My dad gifted me with 4 of the big Similac boxes for Christmas, he didn’t realize babies switch after a year. Is it alright if I just continue giving him formula until I run out of this and then switch to Cows milk?

It’s just fine.  If babies can have breastmilk they can certainly still have formula for a bit.  They don’t NEED cow milk and it doesn’t have a higher fat or vitamin content than formula.

My son just turned two and he still has a cup of formula/oat milk mix at bedtime. As long as it’s the correct age for your son it won’t be an issue :)

Considering they make formula for toddlers, I dont see why not but I would ask pediatrician on the amount you should give. You can always just call and ask the nurse to be safe.

Yes your fine to use formula after 12months, my daughter hates cows milk she’s EBF, but when I have a night off she has formula as she won’t drink cows milk. She’s 13months. My friends little boy still on formula for night time drink and he’s nearly 2. As he won’t drink cows milk either. As long as baby eating enough cheese and yogurts daily, they don’t actually need cows milk. This what my doctors told me as I was concerned that my daughter, wouldn’t be getting enough calcium as she don’t like milk. 😊

My pediatrician was okay with us finishing off our formula. We only gave her formula once a day (at night before bed) and gave her cows milk the rest of the day.

Can your father return it to the store?
You can use both formula and cow's milk if you feel you have to use it.  
You can donate it as well.

I don’t know exactly as I’ve always breastfed, but surely Formula is better nutrient wise than cows milk? So I’d use the formula your Dad got. So nice of him to help out 🥰
