Baby only moves with high glucose levels?

I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my second daughter and I have GD again. However with this pregnancy it seems like I’m being less monitored than I was with my other daughter. I have two non stress test a week starting at 36 weeks with my first born and my gd was diet controlled. This pregnancy I’m diet controlled again but zero non stress test and when I asked they said it was because my gd diet controlled. Doesn’t make sense since I had NST last pregnancy. I did start noticing that with this pregnancy my daughter only moves when I have elevated glucose levels which seems weird to me. Anyone else experience this?
