When do they start checking cervix for dialation

I have my 36 week apt tomorrow -it’s an ultrasound. Will they also check my cervix? Just want to know what to expect

I'm sure providers are willing to check at 36 weeks and onward, especially if you ask.
However, I always decline... It's uncomfortable and it isn't a great indicator of when labor will kick in. My birth instructor with my first said, "your cervix is not a crystal ball". I don't understand the purpose, as you can go from 2cm to 10 in 48+ hours or in 1 hour. Recently, a friend and her doctors were sure she wouldn't go past 38 weeks and she ended up at 40+3.

My office doesn’t do it tell 37 weeks usually. But at my last appointment technically my 36 week appointment but I was 35+6. I told the nurse I was super crampy and having lots of pain/pressure down there so they checked me. I was 3cm dilated!! You can always just request to be checked, it won’t hurt!

Mine was checked at 35+ weeks, but I also 1. asked & 2. was already having “labor is near” signs & scheduled to be induced at 37 weeks.

Mine did my group B strep cultures at 36 & went ahead and checked me then if I wanted him to. They didnt start regularly checking though until 38 weeks.
