Working at a daycare for discounted childcare?

So i want to apply for jobs at daycares but would it be tacky to ask right off the bat if i would get a discount for my baby as an employee? or do y’all think that’s a common question they get asked?

Once your child is brought up they will most likely talk to you about the discount. But if not, definitely bring it up. Would you take the job if there wasn’t a discount? If not, you need to ask. I worked at a daycare for the sole reason of practically free care. My boss brought it up during my interview.

That is not a first interview question. That's a 2nd interview [or 3rd] or when you get a job offer. If they being up benefits then itd be ok to ask tho.

You could just say “out of curiosity, do you offer discounts to people who work here?” If that’s the only reason you prefer to work at a daycare. Also, they legally can’t ask you if you have any kids or are expecting during the interview.

I say ask at the daycare i worked at i didn’t know until i was pregnant that they only offered discounted daycare prices for managers and they got 90% at that
