Ectopic pregnancy??? Advise please!

I recently found out I was pregnant from a home pregnancy test. So I went to have it confirmed at my doctors. My urine test there was negative so they did my hcg blood test. I went in two days later for the results and my hcg was only 54 ( I was only 3weeks&3days when they drew blood). So they did a repeat blood draw to see if my levels doubled over 48 hours. I don’t get the results until Monday because of the weekend. I was reading that low levels of hcg can be an early detection of an ectopic pregnancy, but can also vary person to person. Now I am 4 weeks today and had a sharp pain in my right lower abdomen last night that didn’t last very long. Today I still feel a discomfort on the right side but not pain and no bleeding as of yet. This is my first time being pregnant and I am extremely paranoid. It’s driving me crazy. Has anyone had low hcg levels to start with and still have a normal pregnancy? Also has anyone had a transvaginal ultrasound at 4 weeks to detect ectopic pregnancy?

Stop googling stuff. Your level tells you nothing except that you are pregnant. Its not a low level, youre early in pregnancy.

I had an Etopic in August. My first hcg was 72 at 4wks or so. They never did another blood test but I had an ultrasound scheduled for 6 wks. Around week 5 I experienced a lot of pain in my left side. I developed shoulder pain and a rash on my upper back. Lasted for a week. At 6 weeks and 2 days I woke up with a lot of pain and bleeding. Went to the ER, found the baby in my left tube. It had a heartbeat and my hcg lvls were a little over 5000. He was a fighter. Anyway lost my tube and the baby. I am now about 8 wks pregnant with my rainbow. First blood was 244 at 3wks, second one was 4 days later and 1806. Saw baby on ultrasound at 7 wks happy healthy in the right spot.

My hcg level was 70 at 4 weeks. Also, my doctor told me I was at a higher risk for ectopic because I took my progesterone pill a day early. I was stressing so much and looking up every symptom I was having (and I think making up a lot of them after I read about it.) 
I went in yesterday for my first ultrasound so so scared that I would hear it was ectopic. I was convinced. But guess what? It wasn't!
Try not to read too much (easier said than done, I know!) and trust in your body. The chance of it being ectopic is 1-2% if you don't have any known risk factors. Breathe mama! It will all be okay. Try to do things to take your mind off of it until your appointment. Happy and healthy 9 months to you! ❤

I had no bleeding and no pain..I would have never kniw it was ectopic till i had a transvaginal ultrasound. I still lost baby in tube but demanded to keep tube and took methotrexate...don't stress and see what Monday brings.

Exactly as mentioned, it's early so your levels are low. At the start of my pregnancy I had cramping at my left side usually and I asked on this community and they told me it was most likely that that meant the egg that got fertilized came from my left side. I forgot what it was called but by now I've seen my baby, I'm 8w5d and baby's healthy

Unfortunately, an ultrasound that early won’t tell you anything. They can’t see a sac until 5 weeks. Your levels will be low that early, its normal and doesn’t suggest anything. The only cause for concern is if they don’t double within 48-72 hours. Also, sharp pains are normal as your uterus is growing and stretching  every day. Ectopic pregnancies are typically extremely painful and come with more than a sharp pain or two. I would just suggest to remain calm, don’t wannt stress yourself out esepcially in the first trimester, and wait for the doctor to follow up withbyou about bloodwork and the next steps! Best of luck

That’s not a low level at all for being that early! Mine was half that at 3w5d and I’m still going strong. What do the cramps feel like? Are they short? Or like period cramps? I’ve had all sorts of cramping but it’s nothing like when I had my miscarriages. I’d be concerned if there is (1) blood or (2) constant pain that feels like a bad period.

My levels maxed at 350 and I had bleeding early on but kept testing positive (before blood work) on HPT I had an ectopic.
