What is in the air? Why are holidays like christmas sometimes so much drama?

I feel like a lot of family drama comes up, sadness or anger of lost loved ones, relationship issues for sure... its sad...  this is the holiday I always wish I could be a kid for just for the week!

Its a whole Mix of Year long stress compacted by the stress of TRYING to bypass all the Pain, Hurt, Stress, Grief,vFinancial bullshit Becuz we all qanna be happy But its near impossible with all that weighs in This year has been rough typically Im beyond ahead and settled This year I have been so stressed and over worked under paid and overhelmed Lost my dad in Feb so that is approaching along with what would be his 56th birthday this 27th So Trying to be happy and grateful and humble Mixed with all the yuck built up inside and then more stress It can be a recipe for disaster Thats why I never judge I go above and beyond to be kind becuz the next person I come in contact with is prolly haven a harder timw than me

I for sure feel sad sometimes missing loved ones around holidays. I don’t really experience drama though. As an adult I’ve made conscious decisions on who to allow in my life, and I avoid those that are drama stirrers.

Social pressure of the holidays can get to people as well as any childhood trauma surrounding holidays, that combined with it being dark by 4pm can create stress, and even worsen depression and anxiety.

The holidays can definitely stir up holiday drama. I think it’s a combination of emotions, maybe a change in traditions, and just stress of having everything done/spending a lot of money. 
There’s some serious drama at my work rn 👀 lol. My one coworker reported another and she told me she was going to report her. Somehow the one being reported found out and now my other coworker thinks I told her but I didn’t ☹️ lol

For me the holidays have been hard for the last 5 years. My stepdad (really my dad in my eyes) was very sick than passed away. I miss him so much.  I have had a hard time seeing the joy in the holidays. But I have a two year old so been trying to make it fun for him. I want him to see the Magic of Christmas like my parents did for me as a kid.  This year is the first year that I feel like myself almost.  I think it because of my him. Hard to be sick when he has so much joy in everything.  ￼

We lost my grandmother two weeks ago and this is the first year in so long that there isn’t a ton of family drama. Sometimes the death of a loved one can bring up intense emotions and stress, but I think it can also bring people together too. We all agree to celebrate the way she would enjoy and want us to. There isn’t stress about who should get what and concern about giving gifts. We have more going on and we just don’t care. My mom still has pumpkins and fall decor out. But it really doesn’t matter. Life doesn’t change drastically if the decor isn’t right, or the dinner isn’t perfect, or there aren’t “enough” gifts.

the last time i saw my uncle was Christmas 2017. he died 2 months later VERY very suddenly, only in his early 50s. that took away the holiday cheer for me. but this year i am acknowledging my emotions & crying when i need to. i would like some joy back in my holidays for my uncles sake.

This season has been the worst for me; I lost my job, financial struggles, work taking most of my husbands time, my sister in law had a miscarriage, there was 2 surgeries in the family, family drama, and just so many little thing. I’m trying to make it good for my son but I just ready for it to be over
