Should I get a dog bed or a couch?

I have been leaving my dog outside of his crate when I leave for work everyday. He normally lays in my bed or picks a spot on the floor and hates being in his crate now. I’ve been wanting to get him a bed but I don’t think he’d really use it and if he did, he’d probably think it was a toy and sling it around the house like he does with my smaller dog’s beds. I found a kid couch and even found an inexpensive regular sized couch and thought it would be better to get one of those for him. Yes, it is a bit extra but I think he’d like it plus then I possibly wouldn’t have to wake up with his asshole or no no area on my face. Good idea or no?
