How popular is Ava?

How popular is the name Ava? Name lists say it has been at least top 5 for the last 4 years, but I don't know any girls with the name...
We have an almost 3 year old and go to playgroups 4 days a week and not one girl is named Ava.... there's a lot of Aria 🤷🏻‍♀️
So is it really that popular?

It’s really popular. But I love it. It’s really pretty. It was high on our list for girl names but unfortunately my boyfriends brother and his wife used it first.

If you’re asking if the statistics are true... yes they’re true. It really is the 3rd most common girl name in the US. 
It’s always tempting to assess popularity by how many people we know with a name, but that’s misleading because most people don’t know hundreds of babies. But your baby will grow to know many hundreds of people her own age, so she’ll know lots of Avas. It’s a beautiful name, but definitely a very common one.
