Is 4 months too early for baby shopping (car seat, stroller etc). & I already know the gender.

Just be sure to check the expiration date of the car seat you buy.  If you buy it right now you might lose a year, if that matters to you.

You could probably buy unisex stuff. Also diapers, wipes (you can never not have enough of them), bottles or you can look around and put stuff that you like down on your registry if you plan on doing that
