I need some understanding.

I’m ready to move out my apartment in a couple months it would be two years I’ve been here and I’m moving because rent goes up every year and it’s becoming expensive to stay here. So when I finally find something do I give my rental office a 30 day notice so I won’t have to pay double rent? (My old and new place)
