At 1cm,3cm,5cm????....explain and why?

I got it at 5cm but that was because that’s when i arrived at the hospital. I dont know when during my labor i was at 3cm so i dont know if i needed it earlier. I didnt need it at 1cm cuz i had no pain.

I would’ve ordered it sooner! I was induced. I ordered it when I was 6cm, then my water broke and I went from 6-10 in 20 minutes before the anesthesiologist even had time to give me the epidural so I had an unexpected natural birth and it fuckin HURT

I got it at 8cm and it was the perfect time for my labor! I progressed fairly quickly beforehand, and after the epidural my contractions slowed down. I needed to be started on pitocin to pick them back up again, so I think 8cm was the best time for me!

Getting an epidural was the best decision I made related to my labour. I’d get it around the same time. Which is around 2-3cm. Before this it was just bad period pains. But I had mine done within 30 minutes of asking. So if it could take some time I’d ask for it sooner rather than later.

After my daughter and being at a 9 on the pain scale and only dilated to a 1.. I'd get the epidural as soon as labor starts. 😂

Absolutely! They can go ahead and hook me up the day I find out I'm pregnant again 🤣

Also after the epodurial they were able to monitor my son's heart rate better because I wasn't moving around so much. It really helped us know that he was having problems. That they were not able to pick his beats up with the external monitor. I would have had an internal monitor without an epidural and I wouldn't have been able to move. That would have been way too difficult.
