Andrea
So I had my 1st ultrasound on Oct 9th at 6wks. All they could see was the yoke sack but just said it was probably just too early. So yesterday I went in for a follow up ultrasound at 8wk2d. They said the baby measured 6wks4d but no heartbeat. The on call Dr came in to speak to us and straight up told us it was a miscarriage, that the baby stopped growing at 6wks. I was devastated! So it wasn't until I got home that I was able to get past the tears and think about it. If the baby stopped growing at 6wks....if he meant gestational then that couldn't be right because it was at 6wks that we had our first ultrasound where we only saw a yoke sack but there was clearly a baby yesterday so I HAD grown since 6wks. If he meant 6wks fetal age then that's exactly where the baby SHOULD have been yesterday. I was on my second round of clomid and from what I've read clomid can cause you to ovulate late which would explain why it was too early to see the baby 6wks and why the baby might not be as developed yesterday. Perhaps I'm not as far along? So is it possible that there's still hope? Or should they have been able to hear the heartbeat yesterday? I plan on talking to my actual dr Monday but I just need any reassurance I can get. I should also note I've had no complications. No cramps. No bleeding no lower back pain. No signs whatsoever.
