Clomid use without dr appts?

My doctor prescribed mr Clomid, which I have been taking for 4 days now. Before I took the pills, I asked her if I needed to come in for appts to be monitored or tested. She said no, that I just needed to let her know if I get pregnant or not at the end of my cycle. Does this sound right? Any other person that I've heard of on Clomid is being tested and monitored

For my first round of 50mg Clomid, I was instructed to get a progesterone blood test on CD 21 to see if I had ovulated (turns out I didn't). Upped the dose to 100mg, again got a progesterone test at CD 21 (doctor didn't tell me to, but I called and asked for a prescription and they said ok)... Found out I did ovulate. Third round no monitoring until a blood test to confirm pregnancy 😊 I never saw my doctor in person during this time, but monitored with blood tests at a lab. Hope this helps!

I was not monitored at all. Same advice as you... Use over the counter predicter kits and let him know if I got pregnant. I did!

I'm on clomid but I don't get monitored either. I ovulate on my own as well. Dr just said to cobra t him when I become pregnant. :) just depends.

I had a blood test and a check in with the doc after the first cycle, but he said to keep going for cycle 2 and check in if it didn't work. I've got the prescriptions for 6 months worth of clomid!

I was told the same thing. No monitoring and use a ovulation predictor kit. But my sister in law is going through that same thing and has been monitored multiple times each cycle. I am now looking for a new doctor, it doesn't seem like mine cares enough about helping me get pregnant.

I think it just depends on the doctor. My gyno doesn't prescribe Clomid. My RE only does monitored Clomid. Another doctor in the practice does unmonitored but only for those who don't have PCOS.

That seems weird. Clomid can cause cysts! My doctor won't let me take it unless I get a pelvic exam on cycle day 21 along with my blood test. How can your doctor put you in meds and not even give you a blood test to see if you've ovulated!? If you don't ovulate on say 50mg then there's now reason to keep taking it, should be bumped up to 100mg and then another blood test. I would find a different doctor.

I just got out of the doctors office and I have two 4cm cysts on my right ovary and he is taking me off clomid for a couple months until te cysts are gone. I find it very important to be monitored. 😕

My doctor had come in two days after the last pill and he said I was going to ovulate like 2-3 days which was way off from what glow predicts and inconsistent with the OPK readings. Anyone experience this??
