I feel like that's the parents job! I don't want anyone putting their hands on my children...if they need to be spanked DH or myself will do it!

No because a teacher doesnt love my child, i do. I smack as a last resort and rarely have to. I dont want to smack but i also dont want to inflict a rude, lazy potential criminal on society xxx

As someone who aspired to be a teacher I would never lay a hand on the pupil. If they were misbehaving, there are other forms of correcting the behavior. Smackin the kid would just reinforce a negative behavior towards school, and it's hard enough to make kids love school already!

I feel like spanking should never be the first kind of punishment you turn to. If I spank my future child it'll be because they did something pretty bad. Teachers do not have the right to spank MY child. Leave the punishing to the parents.

I'm the parent, their the teacher. There shouldn't be any other person putting their hands on my child for any reason.

I don't think teachers should be able to because it shouldn't be there responsibility to teach about manners and stuff like that by the time they go to school they should already be respectful of elders and not need a punishment while at school besides a "talking"

Teachers may have a different idea of what your kid should or shouldn't be disciplined for. So while you are trying to teach your kid one thing, who knows what the teacher is doing. I myself am a good example of this, because I got into an argument with a classmate once that I had to resort to violence to solve. My parents understood the situation, but the teachers "don't condone violence". Plus, it's super creepy, maybe the teacher gets off on spanking kids.
