Would I be considered a sex addict?

My boyfriend called me a sex addict because I want sex more often than him. My sex drive is a lot higher than his. If possible I would have sex everyday. If I go a certain amount of time without having sex I get angry/irritable, and even though I do masturbate I really prefer sex. But I dont risk my health to have sex and only have one partner.  I can go without it if I really have to I just prefer not.

People throw the word addict around so loosely these days. I’ve met actual sex addicts who have over 100 partners and engage in unsafe sex consistently. I’ve met those who went to rehab for it because they would be masturbating at work consistently or not showing up to work because they were masturbating. Being an addict has to mean it affects your ability to function and do other tasks such as eat, sleep, go to work, and engage in other healthy behavior. Having a high sex drive doesn’t mean your a second addict. Don’t let bullshit gender stereotypes of how women should engage in sex create any sense of doubt on the kind of person you are. And the loose throwing around sounds more like your bf projecting his insecurities over his lack of a high sex drive due to again bs stereotypes about how women and men should feel about sex.

Unless you are purposely calling into work sick, putting off family get together, or going to extremes to get you’re freak on, then you are not an addict. 
You just have a high sex drive.

No ur not an addict.. he's only saying that because of his insecurities.. I feel exactly the same way as u.. if he can't keep up and isn't willing to be open with u.. then maybe ur not compatible.
