Hsg test?

My doctor is going to do an hsg on me to see if my tubes are closed or blocked. I am so nerves.is it hurts ? Does any of u had done this?

I had one a few months ago. I felt a little pitching but it was mostly discomfort and pressure. I help with HSGs all the time  (I'm an X-ray technologists) and I always tell my patients to take deep breaths and not to hold their breath. I help them with breathing techniques and make conversation with them. Take Advil or ibuprofen before the exam and also wear a pad. It's normal to be nervous but also keep in mind that it is a very common procedure and this exam will give you some answers. Good luck!!!

Mine was painful, but for about 30 seconds.  It was worth it though.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I had to.  Tubes wide open!

I had one. It gave very mild period like cramps for literally less then a minute. My nurse even warned me the entire procedure would be about 2 minutes. I took advil before and after and as soon as it was done there was no discomfort. My own period cramps are worse. I did not bleed at all and I was glad to put it behind me.

I have had one. Yes it hurts be prepared for it. Bring a pad because you will bleed a bit. I found the answers were worth it and when I did get pregnant I seriously thought during the 12 hours of labor that it was way less pain that that stupid test.

I have to call when I start my period to schedule one. I'm looking forward to it... Maybe it will give us answers!
