I am on lamictal for my mood disorder, does anyone know if it’s safe to take during pregnancy? I just found out today.

I would inform your physician who prescribed the medication that you’re pregnant and ask them, be careful with mood medications as they may have you wean off instead of stop cold turkey, or it might be ok to continue taking! But any prescribed to you should be talked to the provider about first

Most anti-seizure medications are contraindicated in pregnancy. Yes they use this med for mood stabilization, but I would definitely talk to your OB.

I’m definitely not a doctor however there are pregnant women on this medication because the benefits out weights the risks... there’s not a whole lot of studies on this drug however, they say every drug is unsafe because of the risk. Definitely talk to your doctor and ask her the risks if any and see what your options are. Mamas mental health is very important!!! I would suggest making sure your questions are answered, and you make the best decision for you and baby. Good luck!
