PROOV- Testing Progesterone at Home (help!)
A few of you have been following my journey on other threads (link to progesterone test posted below):
Quick backstory: I’ve had 2 back to back miscarriages- one is September at 8 weeks (this was a missed miscarriage- didn’t find out until the ultrasound I was losing the baby and had to take the pills to make it happen), and another one at 4 weeks at the end of November (natural miscarriage...bled on my own). My husband and I just got married in August so this has been an emotional nightmare. Now that I’ve had 2 MC’s, my OBGYN did a full lab work-up and tested my blood for clotting disorder, thyroid, and a bunch of other things. All came back normal. After doing tons of research on my own and being a part of this online community, I see they progesterone plays a huge role in early pregnancy success. I asked my doctor to check my levels and they refuse because they will not give supplements even if they do find my levels are low. They are basically not on board with the whole progesterone theory. I did call to switch OB’s (I only have 2 options where I live), and they can’t get me in until mid-Feb. So...I decided to take matters into my own hands and order an at-home progesterone test. My question is: does anyone have experience with this? Does it matter when I test? Do I have to get a positive pregnancy test first in order for it to be accurate? Or does your body produce progesterone after you ovulate, no matter what? I don’t want to waste money and do it wrong. Please help!
