I'm 22 and have been menstruating since the age of 13. I've always had extreme cramping and heavy bleeding, but during this past week on my menstruation cycle I've had a very debilitating dull/shooting ache in my left ovary. I have a history of ovarian cysts and have had them rupture before and it has never felt anything like this, so I'm not convinced that is the cause of this unfamiliar pain. It has been going on for the past 4-5 days and is almost constant. My husband wants me to see an OBGYN but I am wary of going to the doctor. Has anyone ever experienced this type of pain before?
