Anyone here change their mind about waiting till marriage?

If so, what made you change your mind? Are you happy with your choice or do you wish you kept waiting?

I had decided to wait, but after being with my boyfriend, I ended up changing my mind. A lot of it had to do with growing up/maturing and realizing that it's my body, my choice. Of course I didn't decide this lightly! It took ~4 months of him asking and me really thinking it over before I agreed. I don't regret it at all and things have been even more wonderful between us. I believe he is the one I was waiting for; it was definitely the right decision.

I was married at 27 yrs 10months.  I waited to have sex on our wedding night.  We believe in Jesus and The Lord design sex marriage so we waited.  We'll teach our kids be The Lord said so.

Growing up, I always said I would wait. But when I met my wife, I knew she was the one and no longer saw a point to waiting. Plus, being a woman with a woman, I didn't know how long I would have had to wait to be married. But yay for living in Washington!

I was completely planning on it. I'd even discussed it with my SO. But all the love he had for me just hit me one night and I asked if we could not wait. Because I wanted him to be my first, and I wanted to show him that I was completely devoted to him. It was amazing!

My husband and I waited until we were married. I was 22 and he was 28. We were each other's first also. It is a really special connection. Like our own world that no one else has or will experience.  There is no judgement or comparison since we have nothing to compare it to and we have figured it all out together, creating an even closer bond. We waited for religious reasons but I would recommend it to everyone for personal reasons as well. Sounds corny but I feel that you give a part yourself away when you sleep with someone and I only want my husband to have that.

I changed my mind, but I'd still like to marry the man I gave my virginity to. 
 I decided to because I love him and, idk, I just knew it was right. 
​Personally, though, I'd say if you're in highschool: wait. 
​I think sex should be between two people who know for SURE that they love each other and plan on a long term, loving relationship. No matter what pop culture says, sex is best with someone who loves and respects you. 
​Although I didn't wait til marriage, I still think sex is 1) a huge deal 2) "sacred", if you will.
​I guess I'm just saying that just because I "lowered" my standard and didn't wait, I still hold sex to a high standard.

I alway thought I would loose my virginity to the person I married but this past week, I have been so lonely that I was hanging out with my ex boyfriend and we ended up having sex. I dont think I can hate myself more than I do right now.

Considering I didn't meet my husband until I was 28 and we didn't marry until we were 31, no I did not wait until marriage. (I'm not religious.) I've never once regretted it.

I didn't wait until marriage because at the time I thought it was an outdated idea. I wish I would've though. Sex when done through love is an amazing connection. Sex when done through marriage is even more beautiful because on top of that love, you have their commitment. If both wait then you don't have baggage from past relationships, and you have security in knowing that they aren't comparing you to somebody else (there are lots of other positives too). I regret deciding not to wait, but I am so lucky that my husband valued marriage properly. It is so lovely to know that I am the only person that he has ever been with, and I really wish he could say the same about me.
