Never let anything that isn’t normal for you be written off
I’m currently 23 weeks + 6 days and had one bout of bright red spotting yesterday and red blood mixed in my mucus this morning. I have not spotted my entire pregnancy even in the very early weeks and started getting lower back pain which I haven’t had either my entire pregnancy. Called my Ob’s office yesterday and was told if I start cramping, have pain, leaking, or more bleeding to go to labor and delivery. So this morning I woke up had a little bit of spotting and then started getting on and off back pain at 8:45. 9:45 I went to labor and delivery to get checked out because that wasn’t normal for me. Everyone there kept saying back pain is a normal part of pregnancy which I know generally it’s normal but it wasn’t for me. They hooked me up to the monitor and was having contractions VERY frequently but I wasn’t feeling any of it just discomfort in my back. 6 hours later, two shots of medication, 3 doctors on my case, no “normal” contraction pain, and two follow up visits in 3 days scheduled I am home. Never let anyone tell you it’s normal if it’s not normal for you. Had I not gone in it’s very likely my false preterm labor would be true preterm labor and my son may not still be here safe.
