What can I expect for the strep test at 36 week appt

I’m 34 weeks and kind of nervous for the strep test. What is it like ?? Does it actually have to go inside your butt 😑😑 is it weird to bring my husband for this ? He comes to all my appts. I’m so worried about them saying something about me not shaving or having a lot of discharge right now I’m embarrassed and so insecure righr now.

They swab your vagina, and the outside of your anus. It literally takes 2 seconds and you can barely tell they did anything. Honestly a pap smear is way worse.

My doctor didn’t put anything in my vagina or butt. It’s all external. They just swiped the skin around both areas externally. It literally took 2 seconds.

Sweetie I mean this in the nicest way possible but you are about to give birth to a baby, the baby will most likely come out of your vsgina. If you don't feel comfortable having your husband there how will you handle childbirth? Same with any fear of pain or whatever from it, which there isnt. Consider it good practice. And if your self conscious, shave or wax beforehand and take a shower 🤷‍♀️

They absolutely will not say anything about the grooming of your genitals that would be unprofessional it's hard to get down there being so pregnant and the extra discharge that's all normal. The swab doesn't hurt its all external

Nothing goes inside, it’s like a quick swab with a giant q-tip. Mine lasted a millisecond and got the results in a few days.
