Traveling after IVF?

We just booked a 6-hour flight for a 5-day vacation less than a month after we do our first IVF. Is traveling okay to do after IVF?

I wouldn't have booked anything, but mostly because scheduling...no date is guaranteed.  And if it's after a transfer, ehhhh I would just tend to play it safe.  Only my opinion!!  💗

You will probably be fine. If it is after your transfer it may interfere with your scan, but you can probably schedule around it. If you end up getting pregnant, you may have to bring your progesterone with you. I like that you are not letting IVF get in the way of some relaxation. This journey is so stressful. For me, we have been doing IVF for more than a year and putting off vacation because of it. I totally regret saying no and not making plans. Good for you!

Talk with your clinic about your protocol and timeline. Tell them about your trip.  There are many factors that will play into the answer to this question, and your clinic will be able to provide you with the best answer.

Talk to your clinic and they should be able to accommodate you. I traveled right after my transfer (within the US) and just did my bloodwork at a testing facility while traveling and had them send the results to my clinic.

As others have said, you should check with your doctor. Also, if the first round fails and you leave a month after, you will likely delay your ability to begin a second round.

So many people told me I had to rest after transfer, but my last one (that got me pregnant 🤰🏽) I just went to the cinema and shopping afterwards. I wouldn’t do anything too rash after retrieval though m, I always need a day to recover

My clinic didn’t want me traveling after my frozen transfer because of the chance of blood clots with all the meds- every clinic is different though. Plus I was on a lot of meds and couldn’t imagine taking all those with me! And like everyone else said there are follow up appointments after a frozen transfer.

If you're not doing a fresh transfer or wanting to do a FET the next cycle I don't see why not! If you want to do either of the above then it may interfere with appointments.

Retrieval or transfer?    If just retrieval you should be fine but if after transfer you may interfere with necessary follow ups.
