Copper IUD?

Question

So I've been looking for a non hormonal birth control method besides condoms. I took the pill for years and then all of the sudden it started making me super sick. I tried it again recently and it made me really sick all the time again, so I dont think I can do hormones anymore. Is the copper IUD dangerous? I guess the thought of copper freaks me out a little lol. What are your experiences with the copper IUD? Thanks ladies.

I had the copper IUD for 9 years. I had mine placed after my daughter was born. I had much heavier and longer periods the entire time and painful cramps while on my period. For me my periods were hell. I had mine removed when I started becoming anemic and I also kept getting BV. Within 2 months after getting it removed my periods went back to short and normal. Not painful like that and my anemia cleared up and BV stopped. 
Would I get it again ? Yes... If I feel I need too. I got pregnant 4 months after getting it removed lol. 
It works to not get pregnant. My husband and I never used a condom with it and he never pulled out and I never got pregnant while it was in. That's why I dealt with it for so long.

I had my period 5-6 days with copper iud not painful last a very long time lol you don’t gain weight so that’s why I got this one n just suffer all those 5 days of period.

Look into tracking your bbt and other methods of charting. Works wonders for some people.   Ive heard the copper IUD makes you bleed alot.
