Heartburn remedies?

I feel like I can’t take enough Tums to get me by!! Any suggestions?

My midwife suggested I try drinking half a lemon freshly squeezed every morning diluted in water. I have been doing it for 10 days without any heartburn. I forgot this morning and I lay here with heartburn so I will say the lemon every morning is amazing! I was given meds however the lemon works better and keeps it away all day.

I was eating Rennies like no-ones business. Expensive! Not so fond of Gaviscon.
Came across Jacobs Krackawheat crackers a little while ago.
They are rye and wheat. Usually I don’t like things like that but over Christmas I guess everyone needed Rennies and Gaviscon 🤣 as my local supermarket had none at all. My husband said what about some plain, dry crackers and these were the only ones that didn’t instantly make me think of cardboard! 
They actually work just as well as Rennies for me but without the chalky aftertaste and are much cheaper. They’re slightly salted as well so they have a bit more flavour than the average plain crackers, which I hate. 
I’m now keeping them stocked!

Pepcid worked better than tums for me, but you can only take two in a day. Also for some reason almonds seem to help?

Almonds help. You'll likely have to keep snacking on them, but they're healthy, yummy, and won't back you up like tums.

Honestly I would ask your Dr for a script for heartburn meds.
