Yup it’s positive. It means you will need IV antibiotics (amoxicillin or penicillin) every 4 hours during labor, or a different antibiotic if you’re allergic. If your labor goes very quickly and you don’t get at least 2 doses of antibiotic in, they will likely keep you and baby for 48 hours after birth just to make sure baby doesn’t get an infection (the risk of which is crazy low anyway). All in all very common and not a big deal! (I’m a doctor who takes care of lots of pregnant ladies)

I tested positive and the dr says it’s nothing to worry about and to just make sure I tell labor and delivery as soon as I come in so they can start the antibiotics immediately. Your dr will explain everything.
