Washing newborn clothes in Dreft?

Just curious if it's needed. What have others experiences been?

Any brand that has a free and clear product will work. I use Costco brand's free and clear for a while and have been very happy with it and will continue to use it when I start washing baby items.

I wouldn't. It's full of chemicals and preservatives. You're not only putting it on baby's skin but you're inhaling it. Use organic or truly natural detergents

I used dreft with my first, it's expensive. This time around I'm using Purex  baby and it smells just like the dreft.

Doesn't necessarily need to be dreft, but they do recommend to wash baby's items in a "free and clear" detergent. I only plan on doing it for a few months then just using regular cuz I loveeee the smell of laundry detergent and hope it doesn't irritate her skin.

Dreft smells amazing but it's overpriced . I use Purex for baby . Gets the job done and I get more for my money
