So my fiancé and I have been engaged for 3 years, we’ve been talking about planning a wedding but I’m having a hard time with it. It’s nothing to do with commitment or anything like that, it’s who will give me away. My stepdad has been in my life as long as I remember and he is who has always been a father figure in my life. But my dad is my dad, he is still in my life he just lives hours away with his wife, who is controlling. So, she blocked me from his social media as well as my phone number, and I was unable to contact him. I know it would hurt my birth dad to see my stepdad give me away but I feel like my stepdad deserves it, it would be like a kick in the face for him to see someone else give me away. My father does nothing to stand up to her so she just keeps controlling his life.
