Donor eggs, fresh or frozen and why?

We are heading to donor eggs, question is donor or fresh and why?  Our insurance covers none of this. Anyone with experience or knowledge please share. Thank you

If you can I would go fresh. Are you using a partners sperm or are you in a same sex relationship?

Most eggs have a hard time freezing without being damaged. Now if you do a frozen embryo those have a higher chance of thawing correctly. Eggs have so much liquid in them the crystallization from freezing has a higher damage rate.

But if you're using a partners sperm I would do fresh for sure.

Plus no thawing fee.

I don't have experience, but from my research, frozen egg transfer during IVF has a higher rate of success because your body has time to recover from egg retrieval so it is more accepting of the embryo. However, since you are using donor eggs, you won't have the same body trauma so I would be curious if there is much of a difference in success rates of frozen versus fresh. Ask your doctor and let us know what he or she says.
