Newborn size clothing?

This is my second child and it is like I forgot EVERYTHING. (Not literally) but I know newborns come in different sizes and stuff. My first baby (boy) was 7 lbs 6 oz and I think grew out of newborn clothes a month later. 
How many newborn clothes do you need? Or just buy like 0-3 months starting out? I'm having a girl and only 28 weeks but I don't know her size (obviously)
I also haven't had my baby shower yet but with my son I got all blankets and barely no clothes at all. And this time around clothes are really what I need besides a few more items I haven't bought yet. 
Idk what to do its stressing me out. Am I alone?  Gahhh :(

I mainly focus on buying 0-3 month sized or 3 months.

For me the month of so for newborn timeframe we don't leave the house much so I buy a few onesies and sleepers and maybe an outfit or 2

I bought for now, just 2 newborn cute outfits and 10 onsies and 10 pants for just around the house and 4 sleepers :) I plan on washing a lot and buying as he grows :)

Holy cow, I spend $62 on 9 onesies, a care kit with the nail clippers, etc. 2 pants and 3 small packs of wipes.

I'm in the same situation, my first son was 8 lbs 9oz and couldn't fit in newborn clothes at all and 0-3 months only last is about a month. This time around I think we only have about 4-5 pieces of newborn clothes and only because everyone seems to think since my husband came home in premi clothes this little it will be sorta small.

My first was 8.13, second was 8.7 and they stayed in NB sizes for 3-4 weeks. Some 0-3m runs small enough to use but not all.

I only get 0-3 months... But my first was 9lbs 2.1oz so she never fit into any newborns and they were all a waste

I had no newborn clothes when my daughter was born. I didn't know it was different from 0 to 3. And we ended up having to buy a bunch when she was born.

My first measured small my whole pregnancy, then was born prematurely. So she was swimming in newborn for 2 months! Then she jumped right up to a 3 months! My second is measuring very big so we're sticking with 0-3 months, a little baggy never hurts!

I've only bought 1 thing newborn and that is for the hospital. My friends son grew out of newborns within the week of his birth so I've mostly bought 0-3 months. I'm hoping that everyone buys 3-6 months and beyond for the baby shower and if not I'll probably end up going back to exchange for bigger sizes.
