Diaper advice?

Looking for diaper advice. I want to add to my registry diapers because I can get a discount later (Target). How many of each size do mommas recommend getting to have enough for about the first year?

until your baby is born it’s hard to say how many of each size you’ll need. I’d say on average babies are in newborn size for a month and then in size 1 for one to two months, size 2 for another two months. size 3 for a few months...but your baby could be born big or tiny and then it throws all the math off! you’ll need a couple thousand diapers total for a year but I honestly wouldn’t pre-buy too too many because you might end up wasting them as your baby goes through sizes at different paces. maybe have people buy gift cards that you set aside for diapers?

We had to use Pampers with our oldest son because he peed through everything else. Our youngest is doing just fine in the Target brand so we use those to save money. Size 3 is used by far the longest. We never touched size 4 because we were potty training by then.
