Self soothe & baby’s own bed
My LO is great with putting herself to sleep when she wants to. Rocks the head, gets herself to fetal position or on tummy, or she’ll stretch her arms out, sucks her thumb,... but she does all this in my arms. I may rock her slightly but it’s mostly all her. How do I get her to do this in her own bed?? I’ve tried putting her in her bed awake, drowsy, and sleepy. Sometimes I can lay her down successfully but other times she wakes up and is upset. I try to tell her I’m there, it’s ok, but she won’t do any of her settle moves. She’s always been like this. Now we’re at almost 9 months I feel like I need to focus more on figuring this out. I do get a good amount of sleep some nights - which I can never seem to replicate daily. It’s almost like when she wakes up she’s in a stage of sleep where she’s easily awakened when I lay her down so it startles her or when she does stay asleep I found the sweet spot of sleep cycle where she settles and is comfy. I try to figure out this sweet spot every night. Recently we have been dealing with teething so I will hold her for as long as I need to but as you all know- it’s exhausting to do it all night every night! Anyone else? Any tips?
