5 Weeks Pregnant, Bleeding, Normal?

I just found out last Thursday I was pregnant after taking 2 digital tests. I was supposed to get my period (according to this app) last Thursday too & hadn’t had any of my usual symptoms so I tested. Everything has been fine but today I started spotting (light pink) around lunch time. It stopped for a bit & I just went back to the bathroom & had put on a panty liner just in case, there was a bit of bright red blood on the liner & on the toilet paper as well. My first OB appointment isn’t until January 24th, I’m a bit concerned. Could this be implantation bleeding? Is it normal? I am cramping but not like period cramps like usual.

My first prenatal visit is Jan 24 too! I just found out I’m preg today! So, I as well I’m freaked out by any blood. But a little spotting isn’t anything really to worry about and your nurse will say it’s normal. But back in August I had a miscarriage at 5 wks and there was spotting for a couple days and then major major cramping down my legs. The only difference is that it became alotttt of bleeding and clots. So hang in there, spotting is ok. Just call your doc if more than that.
I had a very small amount of new blood, just a couple drops after I had sex 3 days ago... so that freaked me out, I thought my period was coming. So thankfully not : ) happens to all of us!

It could be implantation bleeding. You can continue to have IB even past the initial implantation as little embryo continues to burrow in.
