Should I be offended or not ?

So me and my bf were talking about his new job and how much money it makes. And I wasn’t understanding fully because he didn’t explain the exact price he’d make yearly . And he said “I’ll be making probably double of what your parents make” I got offended because it’s not really his place to say it and I ended up crying over it because me and my family have struggled with money. And on the other hand he comes from a more “wealthy” setting. He told me he wasn’t trying to make me feel bad he was trying to explain to me a frame of money . 🤦🏼‍♀️ I let it go and I told him not to compare again
