I used to use clinical strength deodorant; I stopped after one of my pores got blocked and formed what I thought was a tumor under my arm. It hurt like hell and I was afraid I had cancer or something. My PCP told me to stop using clinical strength since the levels of aluminum are bad for you. I did and the cyst eventually went away. I started using aluminum free deodorant (Native) after I was diagnosed with hypothyroid and since stopping all aluminum the nodules growing on my thyroid have actually shrunk. 
Aluminum free deodorant isn’t bad for you, but the ones that contain aluminum certainly aren’t great for your body either.

I didn’t even think to question deodorant. I wore my regular dove deodorant for my entire pregnancy and my baby was fine. I use clinical strength too.
