Sitting up?

FTM here! When can you start using these things with your baby? Is it as soon as they can hold their head up?

The bumbo is actually a horrible seat for baby’s. It sit their legs in an unnatural position and can mess up their legs. 
That being said, seats like this shouldn’t be used until 4-6 months.

We use this seat (Sit-Me-Up by Fisher Price) and it provides support and she loves it!

I just started putting my little guy in it this past week & he’s 3 months this week.

I just googled the recall out of curiosity and it was due to children falling out of the seats and injuries being caused because the seats were placed on elevated surfaces. I think if you keep the seats on the floor and supervise your child, they should be fine if they have good head/neck control.

I just tested this out on my girl today and it was awesome. She didnt stay in there for long. About 20-30 mins.

As early as 3 months but you should wait until your LO has good head and neck control and can sit up unassisted on their own. As far as impacting their physical development, just use good judgement. I think as long as you don't leave your kiddo in there all day, every day, it's fine. Like if you set them in there while you work out and supervise them or while you take a shower, etc.

Our little one loves his. He won’t sit in it for long bc he gets bored (maybe 5-10 mins) 
He doesn’t have 100% head control but hes got great control over it and he’s only 2 months. Any seat, or any toy is really up to you. You know your kid better than anyone else.

Weren’t the bumbo seats recalled? I don’t clearly remember but I thought they were a few years ago.

I second the Fisher price sit me up, been using it for a week now and LO is doing great in it.
