Rh negative?

Question

My doctor didn't really explain what this meant and because the father isn't involved we don't know his blood type but they are saying they are giving me the rogam shot at my next appointment at 28 weeks. What is that?

It is if one of the parents has negative blood. I am A Negative and my husband is A positive. When you get the shot it protects the baby from your body essentially attacking it since it may have a different blood type

I'm Rh negative and I'll have to take this shot, as well. It normally should happen between 24th and 32nd week of your first pregnancy - but it's really for future pregnancies, to ensure there's no conflict if your next baby has positive blood. That's really amazing that we have this option today. My mom's girlfriends with negative Rh have some pretty terrifying stories to share about their second and third pregnancies, when this treatment was not yet developed

It is where the mom is - and the baby is +.  Usually happens after mom has had a baby that is + and your body builds up antibodies against it, so first baby is fine but the next time you get pregnant and it is a + you body has those antibodies floating around so it attacks your babies. So they give you the rh shot to suppress your fighters so it leaves your baby alone. If you didn't get it your lil one immune system would be jacked up and baby would be really jandice. So it is a good thing for shot but not to worry about after getting shot.
