Do breastfed babies need vitamin d drops?

My baby is 4 weeks old tomorrow and I asked her pediatrician and he said no.

I was told to take Vitamin D so my baby would get it.

Yes, because after 4weeks your milk doesn’t have enough. From what I have seen here it looks like it depends on where you live what recommendations are given, we live crazy far north so they recommend either cod liver oil or d-vitamin drops from 4weeks old. As it’s not remotely enough to just be outside because it’s absolutely no sunlight from November til late January.

Exclusively breastfed babies do need vitamin D. I assume formula already has it that's why it's not needed for formula fed babies. 
I think my doctor advised me to give it until the baby started eating solids.

I actually looked into this today because I saw a friend talk about it on Facebook with her newborn. My sons pediatrician nor the hospital told us to use them 😅 I’m going to invest in some just encase tho

My babes doctor told me it really depends on where you live. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and for like 4-5 months of the year is always dark and cold AF, so the vitamin D helps to prevent rickets disorder.
