31 weeks pregnant with the FLU
I am completely miserable 😩 😷 🤒 🤕 I was diagnosed with the flu but they didn’t give me Tamiflu since they said it only works if I take it within 48 hours of having symptoms. The first 2 days when I noticed I was coming down with something, I literally only had a sore throat so I didn’t think it was anything major and I took home remedies and over the counter stuff. Then on the third day that’s when I get a little worse, I developed a headache, body ache, cough, but we were on a road trip picking up my step daughter from Kentucky. When we got back the next day the flu symptoms hit me hard, it was a Sunday so no walk ins were open. I had an appt the next day for an ultrasound and I really wanted to see the baby move and hear her heartbeat 💗 I was relieved when I heard it. I told the doctor my symptoms but because I never developed a fever they said they doubt it was the flu and it just sounded like bronchitis. The next day I went to the walk in and I was tested for the flu and it was positive. They told me it was too late to give me Tamiflu and to just let it run it’s course. They said it was weird how I didn’t get the flu symptoms all at once and how it started with a sore throat, which is the reason why I didn’t get tested for it right away. (The last time I had the flu was when I was a kid). Anyway, how do it deal with the flu during the third trimester of pregnancy? I feel like nothing is helping and I don’t feel like I’m getting better. I don’t know what else to do. I just cant Wait for this to be over. They said to go to the ER if I don’t feel the baby move but that’s all they can do to help. 😩 Anyone else been thru this? I need some comfort right now.
