Sex struggles?

I am a 16 year old female who was about to lose her virginity last night, everything was going smooth until penetration, he literally couldn’t get inside me because I was apparently so tight, we tried 3 different positions and the most we could get in was the head (a bit tmi 😂) and we used lube and I was aroused but nothing worked, it wouldn’t go in. is this normal? I am very small (4”11) and quite skinny so I thought it might be something to do with that but I’m not sure 😂😂 thanks!
