Over texting causing an issue in my relationship

So ladies, in my past relationship I had a boyfriend that would ignore me for days on end as a punishment after we argued. It absolutely ruined me. I’m in relationship right now and i love him to pieces ,he’s my childhood crush. We’ve been together on and off for about 2 years. I have this problem now that if I don’t get a reply within a certain time I panic and over text him. He gets about 5 or more messages within an hour. I panic and I know it’s not normal. My anxiety goes through the roof. We end up arguing over it and he’s fed up. I don’t blame him. I don’t know what else to do , have you guys got any suggestions ? I don’t wanna lose him 🤦🏻‍♀️
