Am I wrong?

Jess • Wife, Mommy of two: Jayde Marie & Hunter Lee❤️ fur mama of Lexy🐾 🦇

So after an extremely scary labour my beautiful baby girl is finally here. ❤️ I’ve decided to breastfeed and I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made. So my family wants me to go to dinner with them on the 18th, when DD will be exactly 3 weeks old. And I’m a little nervous about going out in public with her when she’s that young but to make matters worse my grandmother has informed me that me breastfeeding her at the table would make some members of my family uncomfortable. She told me to just bring a bottle which I’ve only used when I absolutely have to (my nipples have been so sore and cracked and bleeding).

Any advice on how to handle this without insulting anyone? Should I just make up an excuse and not go? Feeling so discouraged 😞
