What do you do with you crying/screaming toddler in the store?

I just want to know what you guys do with the situation. My son is 2 and I’m honestly not sure how to go about it. And sometimes he gets quite extreme with it. Let me know what works for you! Please!
I must add, he usually only gets upset when we go out and about with dad because he knows dad will let him roam free out of the cart. But it’s just super annoying because he will run off and my husband is apparently okay with chasing him. But when it’s just him and I, he’s great! But usually he will cry and cry when we don’t take him out of the cart.

If my son is screaming out of control in a store, we leave and go to the car until he calms down and then we try to go back. I would never make the rest of the store suffer listening to my child scream.

I just keep doing what I'm doing.🤷‍♀️ he screams so we will leave so by removing him. Hes getting what he wants. He needs to be patient and as long as he isnt hurting himself I dont care if he screams in the store

I leave. I cannot stand when people keep shopping with a screaming child. A little bit is one thing but who wants to listen to that for an entire shopping trip. I have 4 kids so I've dealt with my share of meltdowns and tantrums. We also only go after breakfast or after nap with a snack. Maybe 2 snacks lol

I stop shopping and wait for him to be done. If I pressure him or get angry then the fit lasts longer. If I just stand there and let him cry he’s usually over it in 2 minutes max. I tell him “we’ll continue when you feel better,” he tells me when he’s done, we have a quick chat about whatever set him off, and we finish shopping. He rarely throws fits when we’re shopping, he’s always been free to walk around and he’s always been great at staying with me with the threat he’ll have to sit in the cart if he doesn’t.

We leave if I can't calm him quickly. Then we go back in once he is calm again. Nobody should subject others to screaming children. I know I certainly don't want to hear it when I'm out without my child.

My daughter used to have sensory meltdowns in stores and I’d leave, even if it meant not getting what I needed 😫

I usually try to leave quickly, or ask my son if he wants to talk to me “ear to ear” which just means that he whispers what’s wrong in my ear. 
If getting him to whisper doesn’t work, we leave quickly and try to calm down in the car before maybe trying again...maybe.

My little girl literally started throwing herself on the floor screaming today and her screams are HIGH pitched! I couldn’t even deal with it, I just walked off (I’m 38weeks pregnant, very tired although I really don’t look that far along) and let my hubby deal with her. This happens on a few occasions when it’s just my daughter and I. He just picked her up and she went quiet for 10 minutes till she saw something she wanted - she’s 20 months going on 20years!

My son has only screamed in the store a few times and he’s 3. Typically, I find out what he is screaming about and if it’s about a book or a toy, then I’ll get it for him because I won’t deny books and knowledge to my child. 
Sometimes he’s crying because he doesn’t feel good or he’s tired. So we will stop and check out at self checkout and go home. 
He hardly ever screams or cries in the store. He doesn’t have a need to because he gets whatever book he wants or specific toy. I don’t take my child to the store if he’s hungry, I feed him first. I don’t take him if he’s sick or tired, that’s a disaster and miserable shopping trip to attempt. 
He can speak full, cohesive sentences and typically he will tell me what is wrong or what he wants. I communicate with my child and I do so on a calm, quiet level.
