IUI.... what to expect?

So! We finally had a fertility specialist consult and he is switching me off of clomid onto letrozole. He recommended we jump right onto using that with <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IUI</a>... what should I expect the first month?

Like do I just take my meds, track my opk, and have hubby make a sample day of ovulation, take it in and inject me?!

With iui I would have an ultrasound and bloods taken usually on day 3 of my cycle.  I would start letrozole that night and take it for 5 days (days 3-8).  
Then id have another ultrasound around day 10.  If I had at least 1 mature follicle they would have me do an ovidrel trigger shot on day 10.   If my follicles weren’t quite mature enough I would come back a day or two later and then do the ovidrel trigger.  
The ovidrel trigger forces ovulation in 24-36 hours so my husband and I would go to the dr the next day.  He would provide the sample and about an hour later I would go in for the actual insemination (the office “washes” the sperm to prepare it).  
The insemination is done via a catheter and it takes like 30 seconds.

I’m thinking IUI is probably our next step as well. Ive been on Letrozole for about 5 months. Going for a follow up appt with my gynecologist next week to talk about next steps and will prob be referred to a RE.
Do you always have a trigger shot with IUI? Do you do it at home or at dr’s office and how bad is it?

Depends on the clinic. My clinic monitored me. I went on average 4 times before ovulation. They also gave me a trigger shot to ensure all eggs released since clomid and letrozole can cause more than one egg. They I we both had to go in on day of iui. Although I know other clinics do home collection. Mine doesn’t.
