How long does miscarriage grief last?

Found out I lost my pregnancy at 10 weeks LMP, though two weeks prior at 8 weeks LMP my baby was measuring 6+2 and we saw it and the heart flicker. It's been 2 wks since D&C. I've cried 80% of the time since.  NYE, forget it. After a ton of wine, I was balling!! Almost told Facebook 1) I was expecting and 2) I miscarried but did it in a subtle way and deleted it the next morning.  Just sitting on my couch, husband asleep,  2 dogs cuddled next to me... something stupid made me start crying about it. When does this go away? When can I stop being or looking sad?

There is no time limits on how long grieving last... I had a miscarriage 2 years ago and had a D&C and I cried for 8 months and I didn't get over it for a year and still think about it as my 3 siblings keep getting pregnant. Everyone is different my sister miscarried and she only grieved a few months but she also had another child to help take that pain away.

I had a mc at 6 weeks Nov 1st and I still have my moments.
What helped me was seeing those weeping moments as moments when my heart is closest to that baby. Soon enough, that grief will be replaced by a beautiful thought of something that could have been and was for a short time but had to leave.
It's not easy. It's sad. And that's OK.
Time will heal you.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I grieved for a long time after my miscarriage. 
I wept in bed and felt like I was completely helpless. Finally someone suggested to me that I write the baby a letter and light a candle and let the candle burn until it the flame goes out on its own. I know it might sound weird, but I did it. I bought a new candle, and wrote a letter. I put my sonogram photo with the letter and place it next to the candle. My husband and I both cried and watched that candle on the window ceil and just grieved our loss. It finally went out after about 12 hours. I don’t want to say that it made me feel instantly whole again, but I felt like I had an ounce of closure and hope that I would make it through this.
When a person dies, there’s a funeral. And when a pregnancy ends, it feels like there is so much grief but nowhere to put it. So grieve. Scream in a pillow and cry and let out your pain. You’ll get through this.

So like all deaths there isn’t a timeline for grief.  I’ve had two miscarriages in the past year and neither one got easier.  Time makes the pain and emotions not an every day reality but the triggers are still there- although not as raw in the beginning.  I’ve heard people say that a successful pregnancy helps the most but as someone who is still TTC I wouldn’t know.  I do know that it makes you more cautious and anxious for all subsequent pregnancies and that it is important to find someone to talk to.  Once you start talking you realize that you’re not alone and I think that helps the most because with miscarriage so much of the time you feel so alone, especially when you hadn’t told people about your pregnancy yet, but talk anyway and if you don’t feel comfortable talking to friends find a professional to talk to.

There is no set timeline. I had a MC at 8 weeks back in March and it took a couple months before I stopped crying and thinking about it constantly. Then October (due date) came around and I was a mess again. For me, after October I feel I have been able to look towards the future again. Maybe because I passed my due date and I wasn’t thinking about how I should have been 6 mos, 7 mos, etc. Trust yourself and cry when you need to. Talk to someone when you need to. We all deal with grief differently. I can’t tell you it goes away altogether but it does get better. Sending healing thoughts your way!

First off, my deepest condolences! I mc last March and only knew I was pregnant for less than a week before I received bad news (I had ectopic tubal Mc signs from the start but I was too hopeful).  I was a teacher and had to deal with all of this during parent teacher conference :’( and couldn’t take more than 1 day off nearly 2weeks later. I should’ve demanded the time to allow myself to grieve.  I chose to cope with hopes of trying again but that was silly bc I didn’t grieve to make room for a positive beginning.  I still grieve here n there especially when I was suppose to be due, Christmas when everyone was expecting an announcement, and especially when my SIL announce the news..I gave myself moments to grieve. 
But this is my story and you won’t know what you need until you walk your path. Take your time, find distractions, and cry if you need to cry! Be open and honest with your partner and help each other.  I didn’t realize my husband was grieving (he was so quiet through it all) but would say things here n there about other people announcing.  Be there for each other and be honest with what you need from each other.

Grief is different for everyone whether it is a miscarriage or otherwise. I am still struggling 9 months later, but I know women who got over it in a month and know others who still remember their potential child's birthdate 5 years later. Just make sure you take care of yourself, seek a grievance counselor (personally prefer through hospice because they understand loss better). Take care of yourself and forgive yourself for all the feelings. You grieve because you feel.

Im sorry for ur loss.. as someone who has gone thru it i can tell u my grief didnt end...i can tell u that ur not alone..i cried all the time..i drank..i spiraled out of control.. maybe u can talk to someone professionally to help... everyone deals with grief in their own way n there really is no time limit.. hopefully u have a good support system to help..i hope u find some peace soon

Definitely go to therapy. Talking to someone helped me so much when I had a pregnancy loss last February. I’m 23 weeks pregnant now and I don’t feel sad about the loss much anymore.
