Help! Baby won’t sleep
My husband and I are in desperate need of help! My daughter will be turning 1 on the 7th and over the past couple weeks her sleeping has gotten worse. She’s waking up more often and taking longer to go back to sleep. But the past few night have gotten so much worse! All of a sudden she just doesn’t want us to put her down. She can be sleeping on us while we are rocking her but the minute we put her back in her crib she wakes up right away, and if she doesn’t wake right back up she will within a few minutes. We’ve tried to let her cry it out before, but she gets so worked up so quickly, to the point of hyperventilating and also making herself throw up, sometimes as quick as just 5 minutes of crying! Last night my husband took care of her the majority of the night because I had only gotten 5 hours of sleep over a 3 day period and desperately needed to sleep. When I woke up this morning I found them sleeping on the couch together. He was up with her almost all night before caving in and just letting her sleep on him. I’ve contemplated bringing her into bed with us but I’m afraid of creating a bad habit. We did co-sleep for the first 6 months in a dockatot, but it was so nice getting her in her own bed that I’m hesitant to start again. She goes down for naps just fine and even goes down for bed just fine. Lately she’s been waking up 30-40 minutes after going down for bed and we just have to go in a rock her for a few minutes and she’s fine. She would normally sleep another 4-5 hours before waking up again and then the fight starts. Last night for some reason, she woke up after only an hour and half and refused to go back to sleep! I just don’t understand what’s going on. I know she’s in a leap right now and maybe that’s what’s causing this, she’s just never been this bad during a leap before with sleeping. My husband and I are exhausted, and unfortunately have no family around to help us out, although we will be having family coming to visit all next week for her birthday. So hopefully they will be willing to helps us out so we can get some sleep! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
I would also like to add her usual routine for the day, her naps have recently started to get longer. She was always a 30 minute napper, but now napping for about an hour to hour a half now.
Wake around 6:30-7:00
Nap around 9:30-10:00
Nap around 2-2:30
Bedtime around 6:45-7
