9 month hemoglobin test?

Did anyone’s pediatrician suggest a hemoglobin check be done at their 9 month check up to make sure baby was not anemic? I feel like it was super random and not a normal process. Any thoughts?

I think my baby got it done, but it was just a prick in his foot and they got some blood.

They didn’t do it at our 9 month but said they would check for anemia and lead at 1 year🙄

We did and my babe was anemic. She is now on iron drops

My baby has regular blood draws due to a liver condition he has, hemoglobin was added to it around 9 months. I'm pretty sure it's standard.
